2005 Pu Zhelong Science Fund Awarding Ceremony Held at Swasey Hall

 

The Awarding Ceremony for Pu Zhelong Science Fund 2005 took place at the Swasey Hall on the morning of June 17. Presided over by Professor Pang Yi, the event was attended by about 100 faculty and students at the School of Life Science.

Pu Zhelong Science Fund, in honor of the late professor Pu Zhelong, famous entomologist and academician of Academy of Sciences of China, was established by the Food Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education and Guangzhou Green Yingkang Life Engineering Company at the professor’s 90th anniversary. 6 to 7 SYSU students with outstanding academic achievement can receive the fund’s financial support each year. This year’s award goes to following students: Fu Xinhui, Huang Zhanpeng, Du Zhengyu, Yan Xun, Qiu Xian and Zhang Wei. The fund is now open to nation-wide young and middle-aged scientists under the age of 45 with outstanding contribution to bucolical control. Each year 3 recipients would be chosen to receive a 10000-yuan award.
