Dongguk University President Visits SYSU

 

 

Professor Hong Ki-sam, Dongguk University President, led a five-member delegation to visit Sun Yat-sen University on October 27-28.

SYSU President Huang Daren and Vice President Xu Ningsheng met and talked with them at the Distinguished Room of Zhongshan Building on the morning of October 27. Huang and Hong Ki-sam signed an academic exchange agreement afterwards, which will lead to both sides’ initial cooperation on teaching Chinese as a foreign language and budhism research.

The delegation paid a visit to this university’s Cancer Hospital on the following day. They discussed the collaboration on cancer treatment & prevention as well as its research with the vice-director of the hospital.

Established by forerunners in the Buddhist community in 1906, Dongguk University is the first comprehensive university in South Korea and achieved all-round development after 1945. Currently it has 9 graduate schools and 18 undergraduate colleges, covering 85 majors of which Buddhism research, police administration and medicine are quite famous.
