Prof. Patrizio Bianchi, President of University of Ferrara, Visits SYSU
Prof. Patrizio Bianchi, Governor Huang Huahua's advisor, President of the University of Ferrara and Dean of the Institute of Italy’s Industrial Policy Studies, paid a visit to Sun Yat-sen University and delivered a lecture titled Industrial Policy and Intangible Economy, along with 5 Italian professors in areas as economy, medicine, and engineering. After a talk with SYSU Vice President Xu Ningsheng at the Distinguished Guest’s Room, Patrizio made a lecture under the name of Industrial Policy and Intangible Economy at the School of Business for more than 100 faculty and students, which features the new industrial policies observed in various countries with the growing stress of intangible assets in economies. A cooperation agreement was signed between these two universities on the second day, according to which they are going to carry out collaborative research and doctorate exchange program in such fields as economy, politics, engineering, computing, city planning, life science, medicine, and pharmaceutics. Professors concerned and officials with the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of this university had detailed discussions in this regard with the Italian delegation. Founded in 1391, the University of Ferrara is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Consisting of 8 schools and 25 departments, it currently has a student enrollment of 170,000, and a faculty of 700 professors and 250 researchers. Its Economy major has been ranked top in Italy for 4 consecutive years, which has a focus on the study of small and middle-sized companies’ products. Huahua’s economic advisors and he has been invited by the ICC
(International Consultative Conference on the Future Economic
Development of Guangdong) to present this lecture. Established
in 1999, the ICC is a high-level international conference for
the Governor of Guangdong and his economic advisors to discuss
the future planning of Guangdong’s economic and social development
and to promote mutual cooperation, as well as to strengthen overall
cooperation with famous transnational companies, educational and
scientific institutions.
