Fourth SYSU Oral English Competition Held at Zhuhai Campus

 

The Fourth SYSU Oral English Competition took place at Wushunde Center for International Academic Exchange on Zhuhai Campus the evening of May 13, gathering 12 contenders from Zhuhai Campus and East Campus.

The final consists of three sections, prepared speech, improvisation speech and debate, which are set to examine the competitors’ expressive, adaptive and debating ability respectively.

It ended up with Zhou Tingting from the School of Foreign Languages winning first place. “All these finalists are highly gifted in different ways and their performance are very excellent. Watching their confident and outstanding performance is really a kind of enjoyment for me. I wish them greater progress in both their study and life”, said Reza, a foreign teacher with the judging panel.

The winners of this competition are supposed to represent Sun Yat-sen University to participate in a series of English contests such as “Guangdong Collegiate English Oral Competition”, “CCTV Cup English Speaking Contest” and “21st Century Cup National English Speaking Competition”
