New Zealand Alumni Association Raised 6 Million Yuan Worth of Relief Materials

Mr. Wayne Huang, chairman of SYSU Alumni Association in New Zealand and deputy chairman of Botany Community Board of New Zealand, raised 6 Million Yuan Worth of relief materials within three days for earthquake-hit China. It is the largest quantity of relief materials from New Zealand so far, consisting of 3,296 Kiwi-made tents and sleeping bags.

The disaster relief fund has received support from the local business circle, including the biggest hardware company Mitre 10 Mega and the largest retailer The Warehouse. Air New Zealand has also offered to fly the cargo free-of-charge.
