Professor Ren Donglin Wins the First Place in National Colorectal Surgery Video Competition

Atlas of Clinical Coloproctology and Surgery Video Competition contest sponsored by the Colorectal & Anal Surgery Division of Chinese Medical Association and the Coloprotology Society of China Association of Chinese Medicine, was held in Yanshuo city on April 11, 2009. The purpose of the event is to select the best clinical coloproctology atlas and surgery videos from nationwide submissions. “Repairing Rectovestibular Fistula Surgery”, submitted by Professor Ren Donglin with the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, outshined the other submissions and won the first place in the video category, another moment of triumph for Professor Ren who claimed the first place in the national surgery video competition last year.

In addition, associate professor Wang Lei, associate professor Huang Meijin and the doctor-in-charge Xiang Zhijun, all from the Sixth Affiliated Hospital, received the Outstanding Prize in clinical atlas, which makes them the only three prize winners, out of 15, from Guangdong Province.

With the aims of enhancing the competence of colorectal doctor, raising people’s awareness of disease prevention, and promoting the foundation and clinical research on related diseases, the contest has been highly recognized and well received by surgeons across the country.
