Final of “Scientific Management, Mutual Development” Research Competition Held on East Campus

 

On the occasion of promoting activities to study and practice the Scientific Development Concept in depth, the final of “Scientific Management, Mutual Development” Research Competition aiming at all the teachers and students of SYSU, sponsored by School of Business Committee of the CPC, co-organized by Youth Association of School of Business, was held on the East Campus on the evening of May 25th. Zheng Detao, secretary of SYSU Committee of the CPC, Li Xinchun, dean of School of Business, Tan Jinsong, secretary of School of Business Committee of the CPC, Dai Honghui, vice secretary of School of Business Committee of the CPC, as well as heads of the related departments of the East Campus also attended the competition. Li Hanrong, head of Publicity Department of the SYSU Committee of the CPC, Qi Xiaoping, head of Student Affairs Office, Huangshan, secretary of SYSU Youth Association, Deng Shaozhi, head of University Dean’s office, Yuan Huanbiao, secretary of East Campus Committee of the CPC, Fu Zhengping, vice dean of School of Business and Professor Liu Jingyan, served as judges of the competition.

The competition lasted for more than two months and attracted the attention of SYSU teachers and students. A total of 68 research reports with nearly 900,000 words have been received, involving 8,000 people and a wide range of research topics concerning heated issues of the campus, such as internship and employment, curriculum design, cultivation of student competence, campus cultural development, psychological counseling services, network management, library management, property management, logistics and security.

After the first round, the semi-final, and the final competition, team “Shine” won the first prize with deep exploration to “practice base construction for university students” and proposing practical solutions. In addition, 5 teams were awarded second and third prizes respectively, while 14 teams were awarded prizes for excellence and 42 teams for nomination.

Zheng Detao, secretary of SYSU Committee of the CPC, commented that the competition was an activity of high standard, and that students’ concerns about the focus and hot issues of the school’s current work, their application of professional knowledge to analyze the issues and offering advice for the development of SYSU, realized the combination of theory and practice and changed the study and practice of the Scientific Development Concept to practical activities. He pointed out that the research results of the competition should be disseminated and arranged, and that related departments should respond to the issues of students’ concern.
