This four-hour lecture series will introduce basic concepts of enzymatic kinetics. It starts with chemical equation and reaction rate and then progresses to chemical equilibrium. After the introduction of basic chemical reaction, two enzymatic models, lock-key and induced fit, will be reviewed. Steady-state kinetics associated with these enzymatic models and patterns of inhibition will be presented. Finally, allosteric enzyme kinetics will be discussed.
