The campus network covers the main classroom
buildings, office buildings, student dormitories as well as
faculty apartment buildings on all the four campuses of Guangzhou
South, North, East and Zhuhai Campuses, with a total length
of optical fibers exceeding 75 kilometers. The scale and total
amount of users of the campus network rank first among universities
and colleges in South China. The Center of Information and
Network (Center of Modern Education Technology) is in charge
of construction, maintenance and service providing of the
campus network.
Opening an Account
Connection via fibers
£¨1£©Lay the cable indoors according to personal need;
£¨2£©Get the computer ready, check and note down the physical
address of the network adaptor card£»
£¨3£©Present your ID card, faculty card and the adaptor address
at the office of Network Center on different campuses;
£¨4£©Fill in the Faculty Application Form on the user computer
at the center¡¯s office or any connected computers;
£¨5£©Pay the fees and get connected£¨account opening fee 50
yuan, network construction fee 800 yuan, annual fee 360
yuan, payment transferrable£©.
Connection via telephone line

Suspending and Canceling an
account
Users who want to discontinue network connection or cancel
their accounts must present themselves with ID cards and
faculty cards at the offices of the center on various campuses
to handle the procedures (A fee of 10 yuan is charged for
suspension, re-connection and cancellation respectively.).
Consultation and Maintenance
Service
The users may make a phone call to consult on any technological
problems or report any failure of the network, if such problems
occur. The users may also consult at the office of technological
service of the network center if they cannot solve the problems
over the phone. If they still cannot solve the problems,
the center provides on-the-spot service. There are several

On-the-spot Service The center provides on-the-spot service
when necessary. A service fee is charged according to regulations
of the university.
Network account inquiry and
fee-charging services
The Center¡¯s offices offer services of network account inquiry
and fee-charging. For reason of guaranteeing the safety
of user information, the center does not offer information
inquiry over the phone. Users may register for the service
at the office of the network center on all campuses with
their ID cards and faculty cards, or make use of the online
information inquiry service directly.
The time for collecting the annual fee is from March to
April. Please watch for notification from the network center
and pay the annual fee within the designated time at the
offices on all campuses.
