4. Exchanges and Cooperation:
The school often sponsors national and international academic exchanges. Many domestic and overseas prominent experts are invited to be honorary professor and dual- engaged professor. The honorary professors are C. N. Yang, C.W. Chu and Y.R. Shen, et al. The dual-engaged professors are Lishi Wen, ZhiZhan Xu, Zisen Zhao, Jianquan Yao and Shenggang Liu.
The school keeps well relationship and exchanges with the following institutions: German Max-Planck Institute, British Rutherford-Appleton Laboratory, German Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Materials, German Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Power System, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, University of Hong Kong, Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences Academia Sinica of Taiwan, Peking University, Nanjing University, Shanghai Institute of Optics & Fine Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Our cooperative projects are in these fields: "Ultrafast Quantum Optoelectronics", "Manufacturing and Application of Nano Function Materials", "Development for Multicrystal Silicon Film Solar Batteryˇ±,ˇ± Large-eddy-simulation for Ocean Circulation Structure and Data Assimilation Methods Study".
The school actively organized high level overseas and national academy conferences. For example, the 13th International Vacuum Microelectronic Conference, the 1st and 2nd Chinese Fuel Battery Developing Policy Symposium, International Energy and Environment Materials Seminar, the 6th National Conference for Solid Inner Friction and Ultrasonic Decay, the 8th National Modern Mathematics and Mechanics Academic Conference, the 9th Chinese Field Emission and Vacuum Microelectronic Academic Conference.

5. Unique Programs:
In recent years, more than 200 national research projects are under implementation in the school. International collaboration also goes well in the school. For example, The cooperation program (Development of Complex Materials for Flat Panel Monitor) with British Rutherford-Appleton Laboratory is under the grant of the UK Royal Society.

• The school joined the international project of space experiment "Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS)" led by Prof. C. C. Ting, the 1976 Nobel Prize winner of physics. We collaborate with MIT, USA, university of Geneva, Switzerland, NLR and NIKHEF, the Netherlands for developing a CO2 two-phase thermal control system for silicon Tracker (Tracker Thermal Control System, TTCS) that will operate in space.
• Projects supported by "973 Program"
• Projects supported by "863 Program"
• Field Emission & its Application in the Flat Panel Display
• Cold-cathode Thin Film Materials research
• Symmetry Effect in Quantum Mechanics System
• Ultrafast Science
• Diamond and Related Thin Films' Field Electron Emission Properties and Principles(awarded with the National Natural Science Minor Prize and Major Prize of Science & Technology of Guangdong Province)
• The Effect of Symmetry in Quantum Mechanics System
• Ultrafast Laser Spectrum Research of Complex Molecular and Biology Giant Molecular (won the Major and the Minor Prize of Science & Technology of Guangdong Province, respectively)

We emphasize innovative teachings for undergraduate students. The teaching achievements are also notable. ˇ°New Concept Mechanics'-Facing to the 21century teaching contents and curricula reform", "Studies and practice for fundamental mechanics' teaching reform" and "New Concept Physics" got the national, provincial prizes for the excellent teaching achievements and excellent teaching materials.
